We here at ECG Productions love 360 and VR video content. So, it’s no surprise that we ordered the Insta360 Pro as soon as it was available. This morning it arrived at our production studio, where Trey Gregory unboxed this newest addition to our 360 / VR / 3D video production equipment arsenal.

Insta360 Pro Pre-Opening
Hi, this is Trey with ECG Productions and we’re going to do an unboxing of our new Insta360 camera. We’re pretty excited about this. We ordered it as soon as it came out. It’s pretty new tech. There we go. Oh that’s nice, they come apart. It’s very well taped up. It comes in its case so that’s very nice. It comes all packed in. It’s a nice case, feels sturdy, heavy. Get a nice shot of the label on the case. Turn it over, you see it on the back too.
Behold…
Let’s see what we got here. There it is. We’ve got the camera itself right here. That’s the shoulder strap there. Let’s see what we got. Let’s get started here. Alright, so shoulder strap. Start with the least exciting part of this. Right, get this opened real quick. Going to be very careful. Okay, got your shoulder strap. Okay, see the buckles on the side, it’s got a little pad. Set it out there for you.
Let’s do the camera itself. Turn it over this way so that I can pick it up. It’s really in there. Trying to figure a safe way … there we go. Okay, so there’s the camera itself. Got a little bit of plastic on there for shipping. That’s it. This is a little bit of a lens guard, it looks like. They we go, so it comes with a little, feels like a rubber or silicone lens cover, which is nice. That’s cool, you can transport it like that. There’s it, it’s got little plastic protectors over all the six little lenses.
It’s pretty light too, like it doesn’t feel super heavy, which is nice. The Ozo’s really, really heavy, it’s like 10 pounds by itself. This is much, much lighter. Got a really simple interface on here. Just five buttons, looks like a power button, oval button, and then a couple other ones. Battery case must be here. Let’s take a look. Yep, that must be where you put your battery. Go ahead and put that here.
The Insta360 Pro Reminds Joe of Something
Joe: Looks like the droid from Rogue One.
It does a little bit look like the droid from Rogue One. Alright, then we’ll pull up … what have we got here … documentation. I’m not even going to bother with those now. Actually, we opened it after we cut the video a saw that there was stuff in it. So I’ll go ahead and show you that. Comes with a nice little lens cloth there. Here are the documents that you get. We also figured out what the strap is for. You get like a quick start guide here and then there’s your actual documentation there. The strap is actually…
Hey Mary…
The strap is actually for the case, so you look like you just slide this in here like that, slide this in here like that. Lock it down and then there you go. So that’s what the strap is for. We were kind of scratching our heads with that.
Annnnnnd we’re back!
Alright, back to the regular show. Document there. Here we go. We’ve got an adaptor. Get this open too. There we go, power adaptor. Looks like it just takes a standard power supply cable. This is deep. Let’s see what we got in this one. This is our AC cable it says. That’s just standard power supply cable, goes over there. What have we got down here? Ethernet network adaptor and ethernet cable. We’ve all seen those. I’ll leave you guys in the black about what that looks like.
Insta360 Pro Unboxing Almost Complete…
Here we go, battery, comes in a nice little sleeve, that’s kind of cool. There’s the battery right there, definitely a propriety [inaudible 00:04:59] is in stone in there. Let’s see how the action on the slide in is. Looks like the connections go on the bottom. Okay, just kind of shoves right in there, we’re good to go. Remove that. Okay, there’s our battery. Last thing, USB-Type C cable. This one’s black. We’ve all seen those before. Then just for fun, we’ll go ahead and do the ethernet cable. Kind of like ending the tour in the basement, right? But what are you going to do? Looks like we got a small USB ethernet adaptor and a small ethernet cable. There you go, that is the unboxing of the Insta360 camera. Thanks a lot.
