The Ansley School: An Amazing Institution With An Important Mission
‘Twas the season for giving! Our team had the pleasure of meeting up with The Boyce L. Ansley School and interviewing some of their team. The interviews were masterfully combined to make a compelling video about the inspirational work done at this school, and encouraging communities to give back so that Ansley School may continue to grow.
The Ansley School is a tuition free private school for students of parents experiencing homelessness in Atlanta, that is completely child-centered. Over the years they’ve grown their school to serve kindergarten through third grade, and with the help of donations they aspire to be able to serve students up to eighth grade.
Director, Sebastian Chamaca, was overjoyed when this project came through, because what they do is extremely important and people should know that.
“It’s by far the most meaningful interview I’ve conducted and I wish we could’ve made a whole documentary for them. I want more people to hear about them so they can keep doing what they’re doing and help as many other people as they can,” said Sebastian.
Associate Producer and Writer, Jasmine Waters was also excited to be a part of this project as it took her back to her education roots. Her and Sebastian worked closely together to craft questions for the interviews, consider an effective through line, and highlight the empowering work that the staff from Ansley highlighted.
The Ansley School is always accepting donations so that they can support not only their students, but also their families. They are a pivotal staple of the Atlanta Community and ask people to give what they can so that they may give back to their community.
