Should old acquaintance be forgot, here’s another creepy commercial we made for The 19th Christmas!
We’ve always wanted to tie someone to a Christmas tree, haven’t you? No? Oh well. We’re celebrating the holidays our way. Our own Sebastian Chamaca was kind enough to volunteer as Christmas captive in this spot, adding acting to his long list of camera, audio, and video editing skills. DP and known yuletide-a-phile, Emily Payton, tracked the jerking wires and ornaments with a steady hand.
On the post-production side, video editor Cameron Shaw, played with speed ramps and jump cuts to create an unsettling yet melodic feel. Every one of these videos was a gift for the motion graphics and animation crew. We leaned into the home video aesthetic with film grain, bleed, and a camcorder frame.
Our prisoner might have been a bit naughty, but the video about him is so, so nice.
